Shannon'S Easy Chicken-Noodle Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 oz. bag egg noodles
    1 small onion, chopped
    1/2 stick butter
    12 oz. canned chicken with broth or 2 c. cooked, diced chicken
    2 c. milk
    1 can cream of chicken soup
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 c. cubed Velveeta
    1 Tbsp. salt and pepper
    1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    sauteed mushrooms or bell peppers (if desired)
Preparation
    Cook and drain noodles.
    Place in large bowl.
    Saute onion in butter and add to noodles.
    Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
    (Reserve second 1/2 cup of cheese and sauteed vegetables.) Pour in large Pyrex dish and top with 1/2 cup shredded cheese and vegetables, if desired.
    Bake, covered, at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Let set for 30 minutes to thicken before serving.
