Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. cocoa
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. melted shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts
Preparation

Mix and sift together dry ingredients.
Separate eggs; beat yolks and add milk.
Add to dry ingredients.
Add cooled melted shortening, vanilla and nuts.
Fold in egg whites beaten stiff. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
