Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. pickling salt
    1 tsp. powdered alum
    2 c. dark vinegar (cold in jar)
    2 Tbsp. mixed pickle spice or preferred
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers, medium size is best.
    Pack in large mouth jar. Fill jar with cold water and seal.
    Let set at least 3 weeks.
    To sweeten, open drain and wash pickles. 3 weeks.
    Slice or chunk as preferred.
    Pack in jar.
    Add 2 cups of sugar.
    If real dry, add 3 tablespoons of water and place in refrigerator for about 3 days. Shake jar several times, will dampen sugar.
    Ready to eat.
    Keep in refrigerator.
