Pumpkin Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/4 tsp. ground coriander
    3 c. chicken broth
    1 c. half and half
    1 c. chopped onion
    1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper
    1 tsp. curry powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. pumpkin (if fresh, drain well before measuring)
Preparation
    Melt butter in saucepan.
    Saute onion and garlic until soft, but not brown.
    Add curry, salt, coriander and red pepper.
    Cook 1 minute.
    Add broth.
    Simmer gently, uncovered 15 to 20 minutes. Stir in pumpkin and half and half.
    Cook 5 minutes until heated through.
    Put into blender or processor in batches and blend until creamy.
    Return to saucepan and reheat if necessary.
    Serve with oyster crackers.
