1 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream butter; add sugar, creaming until fluffy.
Add unbeaten egg, vanilla, cocoa and cinnamon.
Beat well.
Add 1 cup flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt.
Mix well; add remaining flour. Blend well.
Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 minutes for a chewy cookie.
Cool and cover tightly (very stiff dough).
