Sauerbraten - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 lb. rump or sirloin tip roast
salt
pepper
2 c. white vinegar
2 c. water
1 large onion, sliced
2 bay leaves
1 tsp. peppercorns
1/4 c. sugar
flour
Preparation
-
Rub surface of meat with salt and pepper and place in large bowl.
Heat vinegar, water, onion, bay leaves, peppercorns and sugar together until very hot, but not boiling.
Pour hot mixture over meat.
Cover bowl and let stand in refrigerator for approximately 3 days, turning each day.
