Fudgy Chocolate Cake(Yield: 10 Servings) - cooking recipe

1 c. sifted cake flour
1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1 egg white
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. margarine, melted
1/2 c. plus 3 Tbsp. strawberry preserves, divided
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 c. halved fresh strawberries
Preparation

Combine first 3 ingredients in a bowl.
Set aside.
Beat eggs and egg white in a large bowl at medium speed of an electric mixer until foamy.
Gradually add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until thick and pale (about 5 minutes).
With mixer running, slowly add melted margarine.
Add 1/2 cup preserves, beating just until mixture is smooth.
Stir in vanilla.
Sift flour mixture over egg mixture; fold in gently.
