One Dish Meal - Pot Roast - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 lb. chuck roast
2 Tbsp. oil
3 onions, sliced
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 1/2 c. boiling water
3 tomatoes, diced
3 carrots, quartered
2 green peppers, chopped, seeds and membrane removed
4 potatoes, peeled and cut in half
Preparation

Sprinkle salt, pepper and garlic powder on meat.
Heat oil in Dutch oven.
Brown meat in oil.
Add onions.
Continue to brown. Add water and tomatoes.
Cover and cook on low heat for 2 1/2 hours.
Add carrots, peppers and potatoes.
Cook 30 minutes longer.
Season to taste.
Serves a family of 8.
