Salisbury Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef
1/4 c. dry bread crumbs or cracker crumbs
1 beaten egg
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. minced onion
1/4 c. finely chopped celery
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 c. water
Preparation

Combine everything except soup and water and shape into an oval patty about 1-inch thick.
Using a small amount of butter, brown on both sides in a skillet.
Combine soup and water and pour around meat.
Cook slowly in covered skillet for 25 minutes.
If desired, put boiled potatoes around meat.
Soup and meat juices will make the gravy without further thickening.
