Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    2/3 c. flour
    5 lb. cooking apples, pared, cored and sliced
    4 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    2 1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    6 c. water
Preparation
    In large saucepan blend sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir in water.
    Bring to a boil and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
    Remove from heat.
    Add lemon juice.
    Pack prepared apples into jars.
    Fill with hot syrup.
    Process in boiling water bath 20 minutes for quarts, 15 minutes for pints. Makes about 3 1/2 quarts.
