Buttermilk Biscuits With Variation - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. butter or margarine
    3/4 to 1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl.
    Cut in butter with a fork or 2 knives until mixture is crumbly.
    Stir in 3/4 cup buttermilk all at once.
    Add more buttermilk if needed to make a soft dough.
    Knead dough gently about 10 minutes on a lightly floured board.
    Pat or roll dough about 1/2 inch thick.
    Cut dough with a knife into squares. Place biscuits on a baking sheet.
    Brush tops with a little buttermilk.
    Bake in a preheated 450\u00b0 oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
