Ingredients

2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1 c. water
1/2 c. shortening
3 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
frosting
Preparation

Sift flour and sugar; set aside.
Combine butter, water, shortening and cocoa.
Heat to a boil.
Pour over dry ingredients; mix well.
Add eggs, buttermilk, soda and vanilla; stir until blended.
Pour into greased and floured cookie sheet.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
Frost cake while hot.
I use jelly roll pan; makes a very large batch.
