24-Hour Fruit Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    Few grains salt
    1/2 c. heavy cream, whipped
    12 marshmallows
    1 c. pineapple, diced
    1 c. grapes
    1 c. Mandarin oranges OR 1 c. fresh orange chunks
    8 maraschino cherries, diced
    1/2 c. toasted almonds, chopped
Preparation
    Beat egg well and put in a saucepan.
    Stir in lemon juice, sugar and salt, and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
    Remove from heat and cool.
    Fold in remaining ingredients, except nuts.
    Cover and chill overnight.
    Just before serving, add nuts.
