Famous Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
3 c. oatmeal

Preparation

Beat shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla until creamy. Sift together dry ingredients.
Add to creamed mixture and blend well.
Stir in oatmeal.
Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
Can add nuts, raisins or chocolate chips.
