Ingredients

1 1/4 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. quick cooking oatmeal
2 c. Rice Krispies
1 c. coconut
3/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation

Cream sugars and shortening together.
Add eggs and vanilla; mix until smooth.
Sift flour, soda, baking powder and salt together.
Add to creamed mixture and mix well, then add oatmeal, Rice Krispies, coconut and nuts.
If mixture is too dry, add 1 tablespoon of water.
Drop by spoonful onto cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Makes about 3 dozen.
