Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1/2 c. chopped celery (make sure it's dry)
    1/2 c. green peppers, chopped
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1 pkg. frozen peas, cook slightly until thawed, rinse and cool
    4 to 6 oz. shredded cheese
    2 to 3 Tbsp. Bac*Os or bacon bits
Preparation
    Make two layers of each in 7 1/2 x 12-inch Pyrex dish.
    Spread 1 to 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise over the top (or salad dressing) mixed with a little cream.
    Seal tightly with Saran Wrap.
    Let stand overnight.
    Just before serving, toss slightly.
    Top with 4 to 6 ounces of shredded cheese and Bac*Os.
