Sauerbraten - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 piece beef (chuck roast marinates best)
    1 (16 oz.) cider vinegar
    water
    whole cloves
    3 bay leaves
    4 onions
Preparation
    Place meat in a large bowl.
    Cover with vinegar and water. Make a net (cheesecloth) of cloves and bay leaves and place in the vinegar water.
    Jab meat with fork.
    Slice onions over meat. Marinate for 3 to 4 days, turning meat daily.
    Cook roast as you would any beef roast.
    Use vinegar water and onions to make an onion gravy.
