Ingrid'S Hot Strawberry Sundae - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. (2 c.) fresh sliced strawberries (frozen may be used, thawed)
    3 tsp. sugar or to taste
    4 drops vanilla extract
    2 Tbsp. brandy or 1 tsp. brandy flavoring (optional)
    vanilla ice cream
    whipped cream
Preparation
    Put strawberries in saucepan with sugar and vanilla extract. Cook on low heat.
    Add brandy or brandy flavoring, if desired. Let simmer 10 to 15 minutes.
    Scoop vanilla ice cream into serving dishes.
    Spoon strawberry sauce over ice cream.
    Top with whipped cream.
    Serve while sauce is hot.
