Orange-Fennel Spaghetti Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 large onion, chopped
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 lb. mushrooms, chopped
    1 large can crushed tomatoes
    1 large can tomato sauce
    1 c. red wine
    1 tsp. oregano
    salt and pepper
    1 Tbsp. minced, fresh orange peel (orange part only)
    1 Tbsp. fennel seed
    1 pkg. Italian sausage, 1 pkg. skinned chicken thighs, 1 1/2 lb. beef cubes or a combination of the listed
Preparation
    Brown and crumble the ground beef; set aside.
    Drain all but 1 tablespoon beef fat.
    In same pan, fry onion until limp; add garlic and fry until limp.
    Add mushrooms and fry until limp.
    Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, red wine and seasonings.
    Simmer.
