Ingredients

2 c. sifted self-rising flour
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. milk
3 unbeaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sift into mixing bowl flour and sugar.
Add shortening and half of milk.
Blend two minutes.
Add remaining milk, eggs and vanilla and beat two minutes.
Pour into two 8-inch prepared pans and bake 25 to 30 minutes in preheated oven at about 350\u00b0.
