Thick Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    3 1/2 c. whole tomatoes
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1 1/2 c. diced carrots
    2 c. chopped onions
    2 c. diced potatoes
    1/2 c. uncooked rice
    3 1/2 tsp. salt
    3 c. water
Preparation
    Brown ground beef until crisp in a heavy deep kettle.
    Add remaining ingredients, cover and simmer gently about 45 minutes over low heat.
