Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. butter or margarine or butter flavored Crisco
    1 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. raisins
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Beat butter and sugar; beat in eggs.
    Fold in dry ingredients, alternating with buttermilk.
    Add raisins and vanilla.
    Pour into greased pans and bake until golden brown.
    Cut a cross with the back of a fork across the top of the loaf before baking to prevent cracking.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven.
    Bake 45 minutes to an hour for 2 loaf pans or bake about 40 minutes for 3 smaller pans.
