24 Hour Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped pepper (optional)
    1 pkg. frozen peas or 1 medium can peas, drained
    1 pt.jar Hellmann's mayonnaise
    8 oz. pkg. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 jar bacon bits
Preparation
    Chop lettuce; put in bottom of oblong dish preferrably Tupperware container.
    Chop celery and onion together; spread over the lettuce.
    Pour peas over celery and onion.
    Spread mayonnaise over peas.
    Spread grated cheese over mayonnaise.
    Sprinkle bacon bits on top.
    Let stand in refrigerator 24 hours before serving.
