Jan Metcalf'S Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
3 c. quick cooking oats
1/2 c. nuts
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugars.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Sift together flour, salt and soda.
Add to creamed mixture. Stir in oats; mix.
Form dough in rolls 1 to 1 1/2-inch diameter. Wrap in waxed paper; chill.
Slice cookies 1/4-inch thick.
Bake on ungreased sheet at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
