Butterscotch Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. vegetable oil or shortening
    1 c. packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Heat shortening over low heat until melted; remove from heat.
    Mix in brown sugar, egg and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Spread in greased square baking pan (8 x 8 x 2-inch).
    Bake for 25 minutes.
    Cut into squares while warm.
