Angel Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    1/2 c. warm water
    5 c. all-purpose flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. shortening (solid Crisco)
    1 3/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Combine yeast and warm water in a 1-cup liquid measuring cup; let stand 5 minutes.
    Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in a large bowl; cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.
    Add yeast mixture and buttermilk; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened.
    Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
    Knead about 10 minutes. Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness.
    Cut with a 2-inch round (or smaller) cutter.
    Place on lightly greased baking sheets.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly browned.
    Serve hot with butter, ham, honey, etc.
    Makes 4 to 5 dozen.
