Angel Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. unsifted flour (about)
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    2 c. buttermilk
    1/4 c. water
    3/4 c. shortening
Preparation
    In a large bowl, thoroughly mix 1 1/2 cups flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and undissolved active dry yeast.
    Combine buttermilk, water and shortening in a saucepan.
    Heat over low heat until liquids are very warm (120\u00b0 to 130\u00b0).
    Shortening does not need to melt.
    Gradually add to dry ingredients and beat for 2 minutes at medium speed of electric mixer, scraping bowl occasionally,
    or with rotary beater.
    Add 3/4 cup flour or enough flour to make a thick batter.
    Beat at high speed for 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
    Stir in enough additional flour to make a soft dough.
