Cream Of Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. oil or butter
    1/2 medium onion, chopped
    1 carrot, shredded
    1 stalk celery, chopped
    1 lb. (1 medium head) broccoli, chopped (use peeled stems and flowerets; remove flowerets when bright green)*
    1/2 c. flour
    3 c. to 1 qt. chicken broth
    2 c. milk
    2 c. half and half
    reserved broccoli flowerets
    1/2 lb. Velveeta, cubed
    2 tsp. lemon juice
    1 tsp. white pepper
    2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 tsp. salt or salt to taste
