Hanover Beef Brisket - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 or 5 lb. beef brisket
    2/3 c. soy sauce
    3/4 c. lemon juice
    1 Tbsp. liquid smoke
    2 medium onions, sliced
    6 to 8 potatoes, peeled and halved
    1 (10 1/2 oz.) can beef consomme
    1 tsp. minced garlic
    1/2 c. barbecue sauce
    6 to 8 carrots, peeled and halved
Preparation
    Combine consomme, soy sauce, lemon juice and garlic.
    Pour over meat and marinate 12 to 24 hours.
    Place roast and liquid in a 300\u00b0 oven.
    Roast should be covered with aluminum foil or lid. Roast for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
    Remove from oven and top with sliced onions.
    Place vegetables around the roast in the juices.
    Return to the oven and roast an additional 1 to 1 1/2 hours until vegetables are tender.
