Granny'S Homemade Hominy - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 Tbsp. Merry War lye
1 gal. water
2 qt. shelled corn
feathers from chicken wing

Preparation

Dissolve lye in water.
(Check strength of lye mixture by dipping large chicken feather in it.
If it cleans the feather from the stem, it is strong enough.
If it doesn't, add more lye. Retest.)
