Skillet Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. self-rising corn meal
    1 c. flour (self-rising)
    1/3 c. sugar
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    1 egg, well beaten
    2 1/2 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    Mix and sift together the corn meal, flour, sugar and salt. Heat oven to 425\u00b0 and put medium size 9 or 10-inch iron skillet on hot burner with 1 1/2 tablespoons of shortening.
    When this gets hot, add 1 cup milk, 1 egg (well beaten) and 1 tablespoon shortening to corn meal mixture and pour into hot frying pan or skillet.
    Immediately put into hot oven and bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
