Hand Soap - cooking recipe

Ingredients

5 lb. grease (bacon, etc.)
1 c. Borax
1 c. soy soda
1 c. ammonia
handful of sugar
1/2 oz. oil of sassafras or lavender

Preparation

Heat oil in large, heavy pot.
Add each ingredient, one at a time, stirring well as each is added to grease.
Stir with a wooden spoon.
While it is cooling, add sugar and scent.
Place in a cardboard box and cut into squares before it becomes too cold.
