Ingredients

1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Preparation

Cream butter; gradually add sugar until blended.
Beat in egg and vanilla.
Blend in flour.
Spread evenly in well-buttered 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 15 to 18 minutes until lightly browned.
Remove from oven; quickly spread chocolate pieces over baked cookie base.
Return to oven 2 to 3 minutes to soften chocolate.
Remove from oven; immediately spread chocolate evenly over base.
Make off in squares and top with the following:
rainbow sprinkles, chopped nuts, coconut, crushed peppermint candy, etc.
Chill just until frosting is set.
Cut into squares.
Arranged patchwork style on serving tray.
