Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large green tomatoes
    1 egg
    1/4 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. corn meal
    1/2 c. shortening or oil
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Wash tomatoes, dry and slice into 1/3-inch slices.
    Stir egg and buttermilk together.
    Mix flour and cornmeal.
    Heat shortening or oil in a large skillet on medium high.
    Dip tomato slices in egg mixture then in flour mixture.
    Fry until golden brown on both sides.
