Corn Bread - cooking recipe

1 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. cornmeal
2 to 4 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. double-acting baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
2/3 c. milk
1/3 c. butter or margarine, melted or salad oil
Preparation

Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
Grease 8 x 8-inch baking pan.
Mix with fork, flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Beat in another bowl egg, milk and butter or margarine.
Pour all at once into flour mixture.
Stir just until flour is moistened, then pour into pan.
Spread batter evenly and bake 25 minutes, until golden.
