Mrs. Tom Curtis' Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 2/3 c. milk
    2/3 c. corn meal
    1 3/4 Tbsp. butter
    3/4 tsp. salt
    3 eggs, separated
Preparation
    Warm milk.
    Slowly pour corn meal into milk, stirring constantly.
    Cook and stir until thick.
    Add butter and salt. Beat and cool.
    Beat in egg yolks, one at a time.
    Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into mixture.
    Pour into a greased casserole. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
    (A souffle-like bread served in place of potatoes.
    Serve with butter or gravy.)
