Cape Briton Oatmeal Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. oatmeal
    4 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 or 4 Tbsp. sugar
    warm water
Preparation
    Combine oatmeal, soda, salt and sugar.
    Rub in shortening. Use warm water to make dough stiff enough to roll on floured board.
    Cut into squares.
    Bake in slow oven until firm to touch.
