Coconut Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 eggs, separated
    2 Tbsp. butter
    9-inch pie crust, baked
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/4 c. flour
    2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. coconut
    1/4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Place sugar, flour and salt in double boiler.
    Add milk.
    Stir over heat until thickened, like pudding.
    Add egg yolks; cook 3 to 4 minutes more.
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla, butter and coconut.
    Pour into pie shell.
    Beat egg whites on high speed until they form stiff peaks.
    Gradually add sugar and cream of tartar while beating.
    Spread meringue over pie; sprinkle with coconut.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until peaks and coconut brown.
