Raisin Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. raisins
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Put raisins into saucepan and cover with 2 or 3 cups of water. Cook 5 to 10 minutes.
    Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
    Sift together 4 cups flour, baking powder, soda, cinnamon and salt.
    In a separate bowl, mix shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla mixture with drained raisins.
    Add 1 cup water raisins were cooked in to mixture alternately with flour mixture, stirring by hand.
    Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 until golden brown.
