Fresh Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. chopped apples
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. cooking oil
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 c. coconut
Preparation
    Mix chopped apples and sugar; let stand for 1/2 hour.
    Add egg, oil and vanilla.
    Sift dry ingredients together and combine with apple mixture.
    Fold in coconut and nuts.
    Pour into a 9 x 9-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 35 minutes.
    Serve topped with whipped cream.
