Elephant Ears - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    5 Tbsp. sugar
    5 Tbsp. shortening
    2 Tbsp. salt
    2 pkg. active dry yeast
    2 c. warm water
    6 c. flour
    2 qt. oil (for deep frying)
Preparation
    Scald milk.
    Add sugar, shortening and salt.
    Cool until lukewarm.
    In large bowl, sprinkle yeast into warm water.
    Add milk mixture and 2 cups flour.
    Beat until smooth.
    Add 4 cups flour until stiff.
    Knead.
    Fry in 375\u00b0 oil for 3 minutes on each side.
    Sprinkle with cinnamon or powdered sugar.
