Red Cabbage(Germany) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head red cabbage, shredded
    1 c. red wine
    1/3 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    few grains cayenne pepper
    2 medium apples, peeled and quartered
    1/4 c. cider vinegar
    1 c. butter, melted
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients, except vinegar and butter in a large pan.
    Cover and simmer over low heat about 1/2 hour or until the cabbage is tender.
    Remove from heat.
    Add the vinegar and butter and toss lightly.
    Serve hot.
    Serve with the beef rouloden or the sauerbraten for a super meal.
    Don't forget the potato dumplings.
