English Toffee Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, separated
1 c. nuts, chopped (reserve 1/2 c. for the top)
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Mix butter and sugar until light.
Add egg yolk, then other ingredients, except egg white and reserved nuts.
Pat into greased cookie pan.
Beat egg white slightly and brush on top.
Lightly sprinkle with remainder of nuts.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 25 minutes. Cut into bars.
