Nitey-Nites - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 oz. chocolate chips
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. egg whites (5 eggs)
    2 c. walnuts, chopped
    2/3 c. soft butter or margarine
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/4 c. ice water
Preparation
    Cream together butter or margarine, sugar, eggs and vanilla until fluffy.
    Beat 5 minutes.
    Blend in cooled chocolate.
    Sift together flour and soda.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with ice water, beating well after each addition.
    Bake in 2 well-greased and floured 8-inch round pans in a 350\u00b0 oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
    (This can also be baked in a 9 x 12-inch pan for 35 to 40 minutes.)
