1926 White Fruit Cake 1976(From Hettie Prevatt) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. sugar (2 c.)
    1 lb. flour (4 1/2 c.)
    1/2 lb. butter
    1 c. water, fruit juice or wine
    8 egg whites
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. lemon flavoring
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 lb. white raisins
    1 lb. nuts
    1/2 lb. white citron, cut fine
    1/2 lb. red cherries (crystallized)
    1/2 lb. pineapple (crystallized)
    1 c. suet (ground)
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. molasses
    1 c. sour milk
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. allspice
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 tsp. water
Preparation
    Mix the first 4 ingredients.
    Add others in order given.
    Pour into cans and steam 3 hours.
    Keeps well in refrigerator.
