Butter Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. margarine
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. sifted plain flour
Preparation
    Beat shortening, sugar, salt, egg and vanilla in a mixing bowl until light, fluffy and smooth.
    Add flour and mix well.
    Form into ball and chill.
    Roll out chilled dough to 1/8-inch thickness and cut with assorted cookie cutters.
    Place on greased cookie sheet 1-inch apart.
    Cook at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Cool and decorate.
