Old-Fashioned Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. navy beans, sorted and washed
    1/2 lb. side pork (rind removed), diced
    1 onion, finely chopped
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. dry mustard
    1/4 c. catsup
    salt to taste
    3 Tbsp. maple syrup
Preparation
    Place beans in medium size kettle, cover with water and soak for 2 hours.
    Drain beans; add enough fresh water to cover.
    Cover kettle and bring to a boil, then simmer until beans are tender, about 45 minutes.
    Do not drain.
    Mix in remaining ingredients. Place entire contents of kettle in ovenproof bean pot with lid. Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 3 hours.
    Stir occasionally and add water as needed.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
