"Fried" Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium cabbage
    3/4 c. white vinegar
    1 c. water
    1 stick butter or margarine
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Shred cabbage.
    In large saucepan combine cabbage with remaining ingredients.
    Cook covered over medium heat for about 45 minutes or until cabbage is tender, stirring occasionally.
