Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

stew beef
carrots (chunks)
potatoes (size of egg)
green beans
1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix
3 c. water
3 Tbsp. tomato paste
3 Tbsp. brown sugar
flour
salt and pepper
Preparation

Put small amount of flour, salt and pepper into plastic bag. Add beef and shake well to coat on all surfaces.
Brown in hot oil in frying pan.
Stir to sear all sides.
Remove from oil.
(Can put onto paper towel and pat gently to remove oil.)
Put into large ovenproof casserole. Put into preheated 400\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes.
Stir once or twice.
Add carrots and potatoes.
Combine soup mix, water, tomato paste and brown sugar.
Pour liquid over all.
Reduce heat to 350\u00b0.
Cover; cook 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Add green beans for last 15 minutes if desired.
