Tomato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can tomato sauce (26 oz. or 3 small cans)
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. butter
    1 1/2 large cream cheese
    2 cans stewed tomatoes
    1 qt. half and half
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter. Soften cream cheese and beat to remove lumps. Mix all together and season to taste with season salt, pepper, garlic powder and basil. Simmer 1 hour. If too thick, use V-8 to thin. Serve with Mozzarella cheese and croutons.
